Welcome to the About CBT and CBT Gym page! Long before I was a CBT Therapist, I was (and still am) a fellow human being and for years I not only struggled with anxiety, I was super self-critical and very hard on myself. I tried ‘traditional’ talking therapy. It didn’t help me. I needed more than talking! And to be honest, ‘just talking’ to someone (even a professional trained to listen) didn’t really appeal to me. I wanted change. I didn’t just want to feel better, I wanted to feel great. I needed tools and a concrete plan to live my life better.
So, I practiced, trained, and studied everything I could about our brains. I learned tools which continue to help me thrive personally and professionally. I became a Registered Counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), a fully Accredited CBT Therapist with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) and a Board Certified Life Coach (BCC Coach).

Justin Miller, has over 16000 hours of experience, helping more than 4000 people over the past 16 years in the NHS, Imperial College, MIND and private practice as a Cognitive Behaviour Therapist (CBT Therapist), Compassion Focused Therapist (CFT Therapist), Counsellor, Clinical Supervisor, Therapy Trainer, and Tutor. Justin is 1 of only 100 people worldwide to have completed the prestigious program in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) only offered at the University of Derby.
Justin also received advanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Training at the University of Reading, achieving the only Distinction in his cohort. Subsequent to this, Justin returned to the University of Reading as the principal clinical skills tutor for therapists in training as well as providing clinical supervision. Having also completed specialist intensive training with CCE in Life Coaching, Justin is also a Board Certified Coach and incorporates coaching skills with his therapy practice to help clients learn life changing transformative tools in record time.
